"I know you are," he says, kissing her nose. "How about we get some sleep, hmm? You've had... an exciting evening."

She tugs the comforter up higher, then drapes an arm over his waist. "I love you."

"I love you, too," he murmurs. "And... everything will work out. It always does."

She wants to say 'I know.'

"I hope so."

She presses a kiss to his shoulder. "Night, lover."

He hugs her close and then begins to idly stroke her hair as he drifts in and out.

Much to her surprise, she doesn't have any trouble falling asleep.

And if her dreams are dark, she doesn't remember them when she wakes.
