Mary Anne sits curled in a corner of the shower stall.

"Well... we could try covering you in chocolate..."

He helps her down from the counter.

"How about we keep the no clothes, but go duck under the covers? A compromise, of course."

"We've got to save something for Christmas, lover."

She presses a kiss just below his ear.

"Sounds like a plan."

She heads into the other room, dropping the towel on the way to the bed.

He takes his time, enjoying watching her ass.

"So, are we going to their place to celebrate the ursurping of a pagan holiday for the murderous Christians?"

"Well, it's not a holiday if nobody's massively uncomfortable. Besides, it could be fun."

She crawls into bed. "Now get over here. The sheets are cold."

"Fun? Tell me how, in the name of the multiverse, it could be fun to put all of us under the same roof like one big family?"

He crosses the room and slips in beside her, tangling his legs with hers.

"I mean, what the hell do we buy them? A suit of armor?"

"Never said it wasn't a twisted sense of fun."

She laughs. "Although as for gifts, I've got no idea."

He rubs her back as he nuzzles her ear.

"Mmm. Let's get the rugrats a couple of teddy bears, Gorlim a clue, and the god can be given a gift certificate to have the corn cob removed from his ass."

She stretches her arms overhead, then loops her arms around his neck.

"Those all sound delightfully appropriate. And not even hard to wrap. Since we're on the subject, what should I get you?"

He wraps his arms around her.

"A house. I think our gift to each other should be a house." He chuckles. "And something sparkly to go around your throat."

"Those both sound lovely."

She kisses the corner of his mouth.

"And after Christmas with family, we can go...home."

"Yes," he breathes with a smile. "We are calling them family now?"

The extent of 'family' to him has been the cards.

No one willingly calls Ruin kin.

"Well, they're my family. Which makes them yours, by extension."

No one except drunk, lovestruck blondes.

"I blame the god; he said it first."

He pulls back with a very surprised expression on his face.

No, Ruin doesn't believe her.

She bites back laughter.

"Seriously! Do you really think I'd make something like that up?"

"Doesn't say much for his mental stability," he quips. He presses their bodies close. "I suppose it'll all work out. Somehow."

"Mhm." She nods against his shoulder

"'S just a waiting game now."

Beat.

"I hate waiting."

"I know you do."

His fingers travel along her spine.

"Maybe I should also talk with Gorlim. Or the god. Or both of them." He chuckles. "Or I could just sit back and watch it all fall apart." Ruin doesn't really care. He rolls onto his back, pulling her with him. "How large of a house should we get?"

"I'm sure any and all of those conversations would go swimmingly."

She folds her arms on his chest, resting her chin on them. "Well, that depends. Do we want this to be just for us? Then we'll only need one bedroom. Unless we want company...or just different beds to have sex in."

"Our funds are quite unlimited. A one bedroom cottage in Greece? It sounds very small..."

He's used to the castle.

Lots of room.

But... maybe... he doesn't need so much room any longer.

"But cozy," she counters.

"Could always get something a little bigger; turn the bedrooms into something else. How close to the water, d'you think?"

"As close as you like."

He grins.

"But I insist we have space for animals."

"Deal," she says, grinning back.

"What do you have in mind?"

"Horses. Goats. Maybe some chickens."

He chuckles.

"I remember we had a farm when I was young..."

"Someplace with plenty of room, then. Could take the horses down to the beach."

She lifts her head. "Really? You remember much about it?"

He shrugs.

"Bits and pieces. Comes and goes. I just remember we had a farm. It wasn't much, and by the time I left, it was pretty much dead land."
